Carambola / Starfruit

Carambola (also known as Starfruit) are very attractive fruiting trees, perfect for the home garden. 

An easy to grow medium to large evergreen that produces large quantities of bright yellow fruit during Summer - Autumn.

The fruit can be eaten directly from the tree, the flesh is crunchy, firm and extremely juicy with the texture  similar in consistency to grapes.

Carambolas are best consumed when fully ripe, so harvest when they are full size and bright yellow to orange (depending on the cultivar).
