Do you sell direct to the public?

Birdwood Nursery is a wholesale business and is not structured to sell direct to the public. Retailers that stock our product can be found on the following Where to Buy page. 

Is there a minimum purchase requirement?

Hobby Farmers, Associations or Societies - Minimum purchase requirement is 30 trees (mixed) x 5 litre available at that time. Asurcharge of 20% additional to listed price is applicable to all mixed orders.

Commercial Growers - there is no minimum purchase requirement for bona fide commercial fruit growers.

What paperwork is required for PBR Protected & Licensed Varieties?

Commercial Grower - Birdwood Nursery must receive the original signed agreement (faxed copies not acceptable) together with full payment of tree cost & royalty payments before any ANFIC managed PBR protected fruit tree can be despatched. Seperate non-propagation agreement must be returned with each purchase and for each different type or variety.

Do you supply technical information to aid with the establishment of the tree?

Yes. Commercial growers receive printed information on full soil & site preparation & plant establishment details. We encourage you to keep in touch with us for the latest commercial technical information available.

What payment methods are available?

Payment method requested is by EFT, cheque or cash only. Bankcard & Eftpos facilities are not available.

How long before my order is ready for despatch?

Usually plants are despatched or ready for collection 1-2 days after receipt of order depending on day of week order is received, transport method & time of year. However, to avoid dissapointment, generally it is best to allow 5-7 days from placement of order to despatch / receipt of goods.

Are fruit trees available throughout the year?

This is varietal dependent and is also affected by customer demand on any one particular variety. To safeguard availability it is best to place a forward order.

Is there a deposit required when placing forward orders?

As these trees will be produced specifically for you it is reasonable to expect a deposit request from Birdwood Nursery. Our general deposit requirements are as follows: 20% at time of order, 50% at grafting & the balance prior to despatch. See Terms & Conditions.

What are your payment terms?

Commercial Grower / Hobby Farmer / Association: Full payment prior to desptach.

Retail Nursery: a credit application may be made in line with our Terms & Conditions.

Who is responsible for transport loss or damage?

Once the plants leave the nursery they break the chain of causation ( see Terms & Conditions) at which point Birdwood Nursery has no control over the consignment. Therefore responsability for the stock during transport ceases when plants leave Birdwood Nursery. Transit insurance is not included.

May I visit the nursery?

Personal nursery inspection by Retail Nursery / Commercial Grower is most welcome. Please phone for an appointment.
