Also known as the Nashi Pear or Asian Pear, this vigorous tree is self pollinating and highly productive within 2 - 3 years.
With a delicate beige, sometimes speckled skin, the "Sunshu" cultivar produces a very sweet, crisp and crunchy yet juicy white fruit that melts in your mouth. Though most commonly served raw and sometimes peeled, Nashi are also ideal for cooking due to their firm flesh.
