Rhubarb

Rhubarb is ideally suited to growing in the sub-tropics and temperate regions and can be grown and enjoyed year round.

Rhubarb can be grown in large tubs as long as they have good drainage.  The stalks can be harvested in 8 - 10 weeks (NB the leaves are toxic).

Botanically classified as a vegetable, Rhubarb is most commonly prepared as a fruit and is ideal in pies, tarts and jams.
